Job Description
Job Title:Track Foreman (Maintenance of Way) Responsible for supervising and actively working in railroad track maintenance operations at historic short line railroad.This role manages crew, works effectively with multiple department managers, performs track inspections, manages repairs, and ensures adherence to all FRA, state, and company operating regulations.The position requires strong leadership, attention to detail, love for working outdoors, technical and mechanical expertise, and availability for emergency response.General duties:Oversee and perform track, switch and crossing inspections.Operate and ride in hi-rail vehicles for bi-weekly and post storm track inspections.Lead crew with track construction, repair, and right-of-way maintenance as needed.Ensure proper documentation and reporting of inspections, weed spray, and maintenance activities.Supervise track crews.Provide training for new track employees.Maintain workforce accountability.Lead by example by actively working alongside crews.Coordinate with contractors, and external agencies as needed.Work with Operations Manager to ensure minimal disruption to train operations while maintaining safety priorities.Ability to respond to emergencies and weather-related incidents.Ability to be on-call to support railroad operations Experience 2-3 years of railroad track/Maintenance of Way (MOW) experience.Prior supervisory or foreman-level experience.Strong leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills.Effective verbal and written communication abilities.High proficiency mechanical aptitude.Ability to manage conflict and build positive working relationships.Valid driver's license.Familiar with FRA regulations and general railway operation rules and regulations.Physical Requirements Work performed outdoors in all weather conditions (heat, cold, rain, snow).The schedule may include long hours, nights, weekends, and holidays as per the needs of the business.Position requires travel along the rail corridor - at times by foot.On-call availability.Frequent walking, climbing, and riding in hi-rail vehicles.Ability to perform heavy physical labor, including lifting up to 100 pounds.Salary commensurate with experience Pay:From $30.00 per hour Expected hours:40.0 per week Work Location:In person.
