Job Description
Job Title Solid Waste Truck Driver Position Summary This is skilled work in driving large capacity trucks used in transporting solid waste from transfer stations to the solid waste disposal sites. Drivers are responsible for the safe and efficient operation of trucks as well as making the necessary maintenance checks and completing required paperwork. Work requires the use of vehicle control skills sufficient to operate large trucks often in unfavorable weather conditions and heavy traffic. The full pay range for this position is $21.52/hourly $44,761.60 annually - $37.66/hourly $78,332.80 annually. Essential Functions & Knowledge, Skills and Abilities To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Operates large capacity trucks transporting solid waste from transfer stations to solid waste disposal sites. Operates and unloads tractor/trailer at disposal sites. Inspects equipment before starting, reports malfunctions to Supervisor, and field test equipment after servicing. Keep written records and reports of trips and quantities transported. Provides normal operator maintenance of equipment. Performs related work as required. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
