Our client, a leading organization in the financial services industry, is seeking a Trade Surveillance Engineer (Software Engineer 4 - Contingent) to join their dynamic team. As a Trade Surveillance Engineer, you will be an integral part of the Technology and Compliance support teams, contributing to the development and enhancement of sophisticated trade surveillance solutions. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong analytical skills, collaborative spirit, and a proactive approach to problem-solving, aligning seamlessly with the organization’s commitment to innovation and excellence. Job Title: Trade Surveillance Engineer Location: Charlotte, NC What's the Job? Contribute to the technology planning, development, and deployment of a new third-party Trade Surveillance platform across US and EMEA regions. Analyze and resolve complex, multi-faceted software engineering challenges with a focus on compliance and regulatory requirements. Collaborate with global teams, including vendor engineering groups, to ensure seamless integration and modernization of surveillance systems. Design and implement scalable, secure, and maintainable software solutions within an Agile delivery framework. Participate in vendor management activities and ensure adherence to company standards related to risk management and information security. What's Needed? 10+ years of professional software engineering experience, with a strong background in enterprise-scale application development. Expertise in object-oriented and/or functional programming languages such as Java, Python, or Scala. Experience designing and consuming APIs, system integrations, and working within complex financial systems. Knowledge of capital markets, compliance, and trade lifecycle concepts, along with familiarity with international regulations like MAD/MAR. Strong understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies and secure software development lifecycle practices. What's in it for me?
