Responsibilities Perform thorough inspections of trailers and heavy equipment, identifying mechanical issues using schematics and diagnostic tools. Repair and maintain trailers, including brake systems, suspensions, air brakes, transmissions, hydraulics, shocks & struts, and electrical components. Conduct welding, fabrication, and assembly work to repair or modify equipment as needed. Use hand tools, power tools, and specialized equipment to execute repairs with precision and safety. Troubleshoot complex mechanical problems on farm machinery, industrial equipment, excavators, cranes, forklifts, and tractor-trailers. Maintain detailed service records, logs, and reports to track repairs and scheduled maintenance tasks. Assist with tire service, wheel alignment, HVAC systems, soldering tasks, heavy lifting operations, and general vehicle maintenance to ensure optimal performance. Requirements Proven experience as a trailer mechanic or heavy equipment technician; dealership experience is highly valued. Strong mechanical knowledge across automotive diagnostics, diesel engine repair, transmissions, brakes (including air brake systems), hydraulics, suspension systems, and electrical troubleshooting. Skilled in fabrication techniques such as welding and assembly using various hand tools and power tools. Ability to read schematics accurately and interpret technical manuals for complex repairs. Experience working with heavy machinery including excavators, cranes, forklifts, farm machinery, industrial equipment, and tractor-trailers. Familiarity with automotive repair standards such as shocks & struts replacement and tire service. Excellent customer service skills with a proactive approach to maintenance support.
