SOP Writer / Trainer – Dairy Manufacturing (Temp-to-Perm) Company: ARPS Dairy Location: Defiance Ohio Job Type: Temp-to-Perm Pay: $30–$40/hour during temp period, depending on experience Schedule: Monday–Friday, day shift (flexibility to cover other shifts as needed for training) About ARPS Dairy ARPS Dairy is a trusted producer of high-quality dairy products. We're growing, investing in our people and our plant, and looking for someone who can help us standardize the way we work — from food safety to the way we run our equipment. The Role We're hiring an SOP Writer / Trainer to document how our plant runs and train our team to run it the same way, every shift. You'll spend time on the floor with operators and mechanics, capture how things are done (and how they should be done), write clear procedures, and deliver the training that brings them to life. This is a hands-on role that touches every part of the operation: production, packaging, sanitation, CIP, quality, and SQF. This is a temp-to-perm position with a clear path to a permanent role for the right person. What You'll Do Write and maintain SOPs, work instructions, and visual job aids for plant operations, equipment, sanitation, quality, and food safety. Document start-up, shut-down, changeover, CIP, and troubleshooting procedures for dairy equipment (pasteurizers, separators, homogenizers, fillers, packaging lines, etc.). Develop and maintain documentation and training to meet SQF Food Safety Code for Manufacturing (Edition 9) requirements. Deliver onboarding, role-specific, and refresher training to operators across shifts. Assess competency, sign off operators, and maintain audit-ready training records. Support internal audits, customer audits, and SQF recertification. Partner with supervisors and team leads to build internal training capability. What You Bring 3+ years in food or dairy manufacturing in a technical writing, training, operations, or quality role. Proven experience writing SOPs for both food safety and equipment/process operations. Solid understanding of dairy or food processing equipment (pasteurization, CIP, separation, filling, packaging). Working knowledge of SQF, HACCP, and GMPs. Confident communicator who can train operators on the floor and write clearly for any audience. Comfortable working in a plant environment (cold, wet, noisy areas).
