Job Description
T3 Consulting, Inc. (hereafter, T3) is seeking an Engineer – Transmission & Distribution Engineering to support the design and delivery of overhead line projects ranging from 12kV to 500kV. This role is ideal for an engineer with 2–7 years of experience who enjoys hands-on design, solving technical challenges, and collaborating with clients and internal teams on power delivery projects. You will contribute to project execution from concept through construction while continuing to build technical depth and project management skills. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Technical Engineering & Design Perform detailed design of overhead transmission and distribution lines (12kV–500kV) using PLS-CADD, PLS-POLE, and related tools Support structure analysis, loading trees, and foundation design utilizing software such as MFAD and LPile Assist in developing design criteria, engineering calculations, and material specifications Conduct feasibility studies and support system planning activities Apply sound engineering judgment to resolve design challenges with support from senior staff as needed Project Delivery Support projects from conceptual design through construction Prepare and review engineering, material, and construction cost estimates Perform quality assurance and quality control (QA/QC) reviews Conduct field visits and provide construction support as required Ensure compliance with client standards and applicable codes Collaboration & Client Engagement Interface with clients, contractors, and regulatory agencies as part of project execution Coordinate with multidisciplinary engineering teams Provide input and technical support to other engineers and designers when appropriate Team Support & Project Contribution Support project teams in delivering quality engineering work on schedule Share knowledge and assist with onboarding or informal mentoring of less experienced team members Contribute technical input for scopes, schedules, and estimates as needed Supervisory Responsibilities This position does not have formal supervisory responsibilities, but collaborating with and supporting other team members is highly encouraged Other responsibilities as assigned by management REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Civil, Electrical, or Mechanical) FE/EIT certification required 2–7 years of experience in transmission and/or distribution line design Working proficiency with PLS-CADD required; experience with PLS-POLE preferred Ability to execute engineering assignments with moderate guidance on complex issues Effective communication and collaboration skills across technical and non-technical teams Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools Valid driver’s license and ability to travel up to 25% Authorization to work in the United States (no sponsorship available) PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Professional Engineer (PE) licensure preferred.
