A role is available for a skilled Sign Language Interpreter to support educational settings in Washington, Illinois. This position involves travel between schools to provide essential communication assistance to students who are deaf or hard of hearing. Responsibilities Facilitate effective communication by interpreting spoken language into sign language and vice versa during classroom instruction and school activities. Collaborate with teachers, students, and staff to ensure inclusive and accessible learning environments. Maintain confidentiality and professionalism while adapting to diverse educational settings. Manage travel logistics to and from multiple schools within the region. Qualifications: Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) with demonstrated interpretation experience, preferably in school environments. Understanding of educational terminology and classroom dynamics. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively with school personnel. Ability to travel reliably to assigned schools. Location: Washington, Illinois, with required travel to surrounding schools.
