Description Specialty: Cardiac Cath Lab Tech Location: Dover, DE Pay: By The Week, after 40,, Depending on experience Shift Time: Full Time, Variable Shifts Weekly Hours: 40 Qualifications: Education : Completion of an accredited radiologic technology program with a focus on cardiac catheterization and interventional radiology. Certification: Current certification as a Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS) or ARRT equivalent. Licensure: State licensure or certification as required by the state of practice. Experience: Previous experience as a Cath Lab Technologist is preferred. Technical Skills: Proficiency in operating Cath Lab equipment and relevant software. Familiarity with various Cath Lab procedures and contrast administration. Interpersonal Skills: Strong communication Skills, empathy, and a patient-centered approach. Attention to Detail: Ability to produce high-quality angiographic images and maintain accurate records. Professionalism: Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor, adhering to ethical and confidentiality standards. Physical Requirements: Capable of standing for extended periods, lifting and positioning patients as necessary, and assisting with physically demanding tasks. Key Responsibilities: Cath Lab Procedures : Assist in a variety of cardiac catheterization and interventional procedures, including angiography, angioplasty, and stent placement, following established protocols and safety guidelines. Patient Care: Welcome and prepare patients for Cath lab procedures, explaining the process and addressing any concerns. Ensure patient comfort and safety throughout the examination. Equipment Operation: Operate and maintain Cath lab equipment, including X-ray machines, fluoroscopy units, and monitoring devices, ensuring proper functioning and performing routine quality control checks. Contrast Administration: Administer contrast media as required for specific procedures, monitoring patients for any adverse reactions. Image Quality: Produce high-quality angiographic images by adjusting equipment settings as needed and ensuring patients are properly positioned. Radiation Safety: Adhere to radiation safety protocols to minimize exposure risks to patients, yourself, and colleagues. Documentation: Maintain accurate patient records, including procedure details, images, and relevant clinical information, while adhering to HIPAA regulations for patient confidentiality. Communication: Collaborate with healthcare providers to discuss patient histories and provide real-time assistance during procedures. Communicate effectively with patients to explain the cath lab process. Continuing Education: Stay updated with the latest advancements in Cath lab technology and techniques through ongoing education and professional development. Quality Improvement: Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of Cath lab services.
