Job Description
Associate or Bachelor's degree in Radiologic Technology, Certification in Radiologic Technology (ARRT), and 1+ year of Cath Lab experience. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered. A Cardiovascular Imaging Technologist with expertise in Cath Lab procedures is needed for a travel assignment in Hackensack, NJ. This role requires supporting physicians during cardiac catheterization, angioplasty, atherectomy, valvuloplasty, and other interventional cardiovascular procedures. The position offers the opportunity to work with advanced technologies such as intra-vascular ultrasound, intra-aortic balloon pumps, and various stent placements. Responsibilities Prepare sterile trays and organize specific equipment for each procedure. Prepare patients by attaching EKG leads, performing antiseptic scrubs, and assisting in monitoring setup. Calibrate and test transducers to ensure accurate hemodynamic pressure readings. Assist physicians throughout diagnostic and interventional procedures, including operating power injectors and digital cine imaging systems. Ensure proper storage and retrieval of patient images and hemodynamic records. Provide supportive care in emergency situations alongside nursing staff and physicians. Aid in sheath removal and vascular closure device insertion. Support inventory control and equipment maintenance, calibration, and evaluation. Communicate effectively with patients and caregivers, considering diverse cultural and developmental needs. Adhere to organizational competencies and healthcare standards. Desired Experience & Qualifications Proven skills in Cath Lab imaging and cardiovascular technologies. Ability to lift at least 40 lbs., push/pull 100 lbs., and stand for extended periods. Strong communication skills adaptable to varied patient populations. Familiarity with digital imaging protocols and equipment maintenance.
