Description Specialty: Clinical Laboratory Scientist Location: Port Clinton, Ohio Pay: Depending on experience Weekly Hours: 40 Qualifications: Education : Bachelor's degree in Medical Laboratory Science or a related field. Certification: Current certification as an MT/CLS/MLS (ASCP-MLS) or AMT (MLS) Licensure: State licensure or certification as required by the state of practice. Experience: Previous experience as a CLS is preferred. Technical Skills: Proficiency in clinical laboratory techniques, instrumetation, and quality control procedures. Interpersonal Skills: Strong communication Skills, empathy, and a patient-centered approach. Attention to Detail: Ability to produce high-quality angiographic images and maintain accurate records. Professionalism: Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor, adhering to ethical and confidentiality standards. Physical Requirements: Capable of standing for extended periods, lifting and positioning patients as necessary, and assisting with physically demanding tasks. Key Responsibilities: Laboratory Testing : Perform a variety of clinical laboratory tests, including chemistry, hematology, microbiology, immunology, and blood bank tests, following established protocols and quality control procedures. Specimen Collection: Collect, process, and prepare patient specimens for analysis, ensuring accuracy and proper handling. Instrument Operation: Operate and maintain laboratory instruments and equipment, troubleshoot issues, and perform routine maintenance. Data Analysis: Analyze test results, interpret findings, and accurately report laboratory findings to healthcare providers. Quality Assurance: Monitor and maintain the quality of laboratory procedures, including proficiency testing and adherence to regulatory standards. Documentation: Maintain detailed records of test results, quality control, and instrument maintenance while ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations. Laboratory Safety: Adhere to safety protocols, including proper disposal of hazardous materials and the use of personal protective equipment (PPE). Inventory Management: Manage laboratory inventory, including reagents, supplies, and equipment, and order necessary items as required. Collaboration: Work closely with healthcare teams to discuss test results, assist with patient diagnosis and treatment, and provide consultation as needed. Continuing Education: Stay updated with the latest advancement in clinical laboratory science through ongoing education and professional development.
