Degree in American Sign Language (ASL) Interpreting, certified ASL Interpreter credentials, and 1+ year of experience as an ASL Interpreter in educational settings. This role involves travel to various schools in the Portsmouth, NH area, assisting students and staff by facilitating clear and effective communication through sign language interpretation. Key Responsibilities Interpret spoken language into American Sign Language (ASL) and vice versa during classroom instruction, meetings, and school events. Collaborate with educators, students, and families to ensure accessibility and understanding. Adapt communication style to meet the individual needs of students. Maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards in all interactions. Travel to multiple school locations within the Portsmouth region as required. Qualifications And Experience Proficiency in American Sign Language with certification preferred. Experience interpreting in educational settings is highly desirable. Strong understanding of deaf culture and communication strategies. Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively.
