Job Description & Requirements Specialty: ICU - Intensive Care Unit Discipline: RN Start Date: 06/09/2026 Duration: 13 weeks 36 hours per week Shift: 12 hours, nights Employment Type: Travel Assignment Overview Shift: Nights, 3x12hrs Hours: 36 hrs/wk Start Date: Jun 9, 2026 Length: 13 weeks Openings: 1 Description American Traveler is seeking an experienced ICU RN for a night shift travel contract at a Level 1 Trauma Center in Chicago, IL, requiring a minimum of 2 years of ICU experience and an active IL RN license. Details Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts, 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM Every other weekend (2 weekends per month) required This is a mandatory float facility — ICU RNs are required to float at the facility's discretion ICU RNs may float between Burn ICU, CCU, Medical ICU, SICU, and Neuro ICU units, and may be asked to float to Med/Surg units to support staffing needs Orientation and precepting shift during the first week will be on day shift No call or on-call requirements Charting in Cerner Level 1 Trauma Center setting Requirements Active Illinois (IL) RN license required — pending licenses not accepted Minimum 2 years of recent acute care ICU experience required Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS 2 professional references from a supervisor within the past 2 years required for consideration COVID vaccine documentation required — no exceptions Additional Information Scrubs must be navy blue and are not provided by the facility RTO is limited to 5 days maximum per contract, with no more than 2 consecutive days off at a time RTO on weekends will not be approved No RTO on holidays or the day immediately before or after a holiday Local candidates are accepted and preferred; candidates must reside within 75 miles of the facility No block scheduling or special scheduling requests will be approved American Traveler Job ID #P-705960.
