Job Description & Requirements Specialty: Intermediate Care Discipline: RN Start Date: 06/01/2026 Duration: 13 weeks 36 hours per week Shift: 12 hours, nights Employment Type: Travel Assignment Overview Shift: Nights, 3x12hrs Hours: 36 hrs/wk Start Date: Jun 1, 2026 Length: 13 weeks Openings: 1 Description American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Intermediate Care (IMC) Night Shift position requiring ACLS and NIH certifications, with experience managing cardiac, respiratory, and DKA patients. Details Hospital-based Intermediate Care Unit (IMC) with 22 beds and an average daily census of 22 patients Adult and geriatric patient population with common diagnoses including cardiac conditions, respiratory illness, and diabetic ketoacidosis (DKA) Specialized procedures include Precedex drips, insulin drips, high-flow oxygen, BiPAP, chest tubes, and post-cardiac cath lab/TCAR care Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:4 Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts (19:00–07:30) Every other weekend required Holiday coverage required as scheduled Floating required within specialty and to lower acuity units as needed On-call status may be assigned in low-census situations in lieu of call-off, though this is rare Requirements Active RN license in Maryland (MD) or a Compact RN license currently in hand Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS), and CPI Minimum 2 years of RN experience required; 3 years preferred Experience in an Intermediate Care or step-down unit setting Additional Information First-time travelers are welcome to apply Navy scrubs required Any time-off requests should be disclosed at the time of initial consideration 13-week contract American Traveler Job ID #P-705959.
