American Traveler is seeking a travel nurse RN LDRP - Labor Delivery Recovery & Postpartum for a travel nursing job in Fort Morgan, Colorado. Job Description & Requirements Specialty: LDRP - Labor Delivery Recovery & Postpartum Discipline: RN Start Date: 07/06/2026 Duration: 26 weeks 36 hours per week Shift: 12 hours, nights Employment Type: Travel Assignment Overview Shift: Nights, 3x12hrs Hours: 36 hrs/wk Start Date: Jul 6, 2026 Length: 26 weeks Openings: 1 Description American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an LDRP (Labor, Delivery, Recovery & Postpartum) position at an acute care hospital in Colorado, requiring at least 1 year of L&D experience and LDRP training. Details Rural acute care hospital setting with a combined L&D, postpartum, and mother-baby unit Unit includes 4 LDRP beds, 1 OR suite for C-sections, 2 triage beds, and 3 postpartum beds Low-volume unit averaging 0–2 births per day (~200 per year) Patient population includes laboring and postpartum women, newborns, and GYN surgical patients RNs are expected to triage, function as primary delivery nurse, and manage newborn transitions C-section circulation and post-op GYN patient management are not required Titration of drips required; Pitocin is the most common titratable medication OB physicians are on-call and not in-house; 20-minute response time Anesthesia is in-house during regular business hours and on-call after hours with a 20-minute response time RT attends deliveries when available; pediatrician on-call may attend in lieu of RT Respiratory equipment on unit includes Bubble CPAP, CPAP, and nasal cannula (NC) EFM system: OBIX EMR: Epic 12-hour night shifts, 6p–6a Every other weekend required (Friday, Saturday, Sunday rotation) Half of winter holidays required No on-call or standby requirement Occasional floating to med-surg as helping hands (rare) 26-week assignment Requirements Active CO RN license or Compact (NLC) RN license required; pending licenses are not accepted Current certifications required: BLS (AHA), ACLS (AHA), NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program), and AWHONN Intermediate Fetal Monitoring; pending certifications are not accepted Minimum 1 year of L&D experience required Must be trained and experienced in the LDRP model of care Must be able to triage patients and function as a delivery and newborn transition nurse Candidate must reside more than 60 miles from the facility, verified by driver's license A copy of a valid driver's license is required for consideration 2 professional references required: one supervisor from within the last 12 months and one peer or supervisor from within the last 3 years, both including dates of employment and eligibility for rehire Additional Information Charge nurse takes a patient assignment and works as one of two nurses on shift; no nurse aides or surgical techs on the unit Unit follows AWHONN staffing guidelines to the extent possible for a rural facility Candidates must be physically present in state for the week of orientation, even if initial modules are completed remotely Unit-specific orientation is 3 days No scrub color requirement; scrubs are not provided by the facility Candidates may not have been directly employed (full-time, part-time, or PRN) by any CommonSpirit, CHI, or Dignity facility within the past year; candidates who worked PRN through outside staffing firms will be considered American Traveler Job ID #P-705889.
