Medical Laboratory Technician Location: Albemarle, NC Agency: Cynet Health Pay: Competitive weekly pay (inquire for details) Shift Information: Nights - 5 days x 8 hours Start Date: 5/18/2026 About the Position Job Title: Medical Laboratory Technologist Profession: Medical Laboratory Technologist Specialty: - Duration: Not specified Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum Years of Experience: Not specified License: Associate's degree required, MLT registry eligible or equivalent required. Certifications: MLT (ASCP) or equivalent required within one year of hire. Must-Have: Strong critical thinking skills and the ability to work independently, as there may be shifts where the technologist is the only team member on-site. Effective time management and ability to prioritize within a fast-paced lab environment. Adaptability and flexibility, as workflows and priorities can change. Experience with EPIC is highly preferred. Familiarity with instrumentation such as AU680, DxH, and Stago Compact is a plus. Previous experience with blood bank testing is required. Description: Performs laboratory analysis on received specimens, providing clinical information for diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of diseases. Responsible for overall quality, efficiency, and safety in the performance of assigned technical duties. Demonstrates proficiency and follows testing procedures and policies by adherence to quality assurance guidelines for equipment and work area. Documents corrective action to any non-conforming event. Prepares reagents and maintains an adequate supply of materials for test procedures. Manages inventory to effectively reduce departmental waste and expense. Exercises clinical judgment in assessing priorities while identifying, problem-solving, and offering solutions to test systems. Contacts hotline to troubleshoot with a specialist when necessary to resolve issues or set up service when appropriate. Assists with the review and revision of procedures and documentation related to accreditation. Adheres to all regulatory requirements for various authorities. Maintains clear, real-time communications shift-to-shift and with leadership regarding issues, concerns, and problems that may affect patient care or the operation of the department. Participates in planning and implementing change through participation in staff meetings, task forces, or projects. Participates in the competency assessment program, where qualified. Works in a fast-paced clinical environment. Works in an area that contains biohazardous materials along with chemical, fire, and mechanical hazards. Duties may involve standing, walking, stretching, stooping, bending, and lifting light (20 pounds) to moderately heavy (50 pounds) loads.
