Details Hospital-based Medical Surgical unit with 33 beds and an average daily census of 20 Patient population includes young adults through geriatric patients with general medical and surgical needs, including renal and bariatric surgery services Unit has telemetry capability Patient ratio of 1:5–6 Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts (6:45 PM – 7:15 AM) Every other weekend required Floating required within the facility and scope of practice, as well as to a sister campus as needed No on-call requirements EMR: Epic; medication dispensing via Pyxis; communication method: SBAR Requirements Active GA or Compact RN license required Current BLS certification required Minimum 1 year of Med/Surg nursing experience required Must have been away from all Piedmont facilities for at least 1 full year to be eligible as a returning traveler Two supervisory references (Manager level or above; charge nurse references not accepted) are strongly preferred Additional Information First-time travelers are welcome to apply Local candidates are accepted Navy blue scrubs required RTO maximum of 7 days for the contract; RTO may not be requested during the first week of the assignment Holiday coverage is required: if one or two major holidays fall within the assignment period, travelers are expected to work all of them with no holiday RTO; if three major holidays fall within the assignment period, travelers are expected to work two of them Major holidays include Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday (counts as one), Christmas Eve/Christmas Day (counts as one), and New Year's Eve/New Year's Day (counts as one) No schedule change requests or alternate shift requests are permitted — the posted night shift is firm Travel pairs may not be assigned to the same shift on the same unit American Traveler Job ID #P-705922.
