Roles & Responsibilities Prepare patients for surgery with precision and care in a bustling PreOp unit Perform IV starts and EKGs to ensure smooth procedures Assist with nerve blocks while getting oriented by experienced staff Float seamlessly between campuses to support team needs Contribute as a working charge nurse, taking assignments and leading with confidence Deliver exceptional care for a variety of cases from general surgeries to robotics Qualifications Active RN license with BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required Acute PreOp experience preferred but first-time travelers welcome Comfortable with IV starts and willing to learn EKGs and nerve blocks Must pass Basic Dysrhythmia test (83% or higher) before starting No recent direct employment with CommonSpirit facilities Education RN licensure required Knowledge & Skills Proficiency in patient assessment and preoperative preparation Familiarity with common surgical cases like choles, hernias, and endoscopies Skills in EMR systems such as SIS and Meditech Ability to handle 1:3 nurse-to-case ratios in a dynamic 10-room unit Team player ready for Phase 2 coverage and occasional floating Benefits Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage to keep you thriving Paid time off so you can recharge and enjoy life Supportive orientation with a dedicated preceptor Licensure and certification assistance A close-knit team that feels like family Travel reimbursement for floating between nearby campuses Travel Perks: Explore College Station, Texas While in College Station, catch a Texas A&M Aggies game at Kyle Field for that unbeatable school spirit, stroll the scenic trails at Lake Bryan for some outdoor adventure, explore the George Bush Presidential Library, or savor mouthwatering BBQ at local favorites.
