Job Description & Requirements Specialty: Occupational Therapist Discipline: Therapy Start Date: 06/01/2026 Duration: 26 weeks 40 hours per week Shift: 8 hours, days Employment Type: Travel Assignment Overview Shift: Days, 5x8hrs Hours: 40 hrs/wk Start Date: Jun 1, 2026 Length: 26 weeks Openings: 1 Description American Traveler is hiring a travel Occupational Therapist with 2+ years of experience for an inpatient rehab and acute care setting in Hilo, Hawaii, requiring an active Hawaii state license by the start of the assignment. Details Inpatient rehabilitation and acute rehab setting within a hospital Coverage across both Inpatient and Outpatient Rehab departments Patient population consists of adults in outpatient and acute care settings Day shift, Monday through Friday, 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM EMR systems used include Net Health Therapy and Meditech 26-week contract Requirements Active Occupational Therapist license; Hawaii state license required by start of assignment (license required if applicable) Minimum 2 years of experience working with adult patients in outpatient and acute care settings BLS certification from the American Red Cross required Additional Information Responsibilities include evaluating and re-evaluating assigned patients in both outpatient and inpatient settings Must plan and implement ongoing OT treatment programs as prescribed by the ordering physician, including regularly updating treatment plans and home exercise programs Must be able to independently manage a full caseload and determine when re-evaluations are appropriate based on insurance authorization Holiday coverage may be required based on hospital operations for Hawaii State and Federal Holidays All travelers must report to Employee Health 48–72 hours prior to the start of the assignment; this appointment takes place at the facility's Employee Health department and must be attended in person — plan to arrive in Hawaii by the Thursday before a Monday start date to attend Friday morning American Traveler Job ID #P-699926.
