Job Description & Requirements Specialty PACU - Post Anesthesia Care Discipline: RN Start Date 06/08/2026 Duration: 13 weeks 40 hours per week Shift: 10 hours, days Employment Type: Travel RN Position Job Notes: Travel or Local Registered Nurse needed for ASAP start. A minimum of 2+ years of recent hospital bedside experience is required. Candidates must be able to start within 5 weeks. Opportunity for extension upon successful completion of the initial assignment. $750 referral bonus available. Opportunity: Registered Nurse - PACU Job Details Work 4x10 hour shifts, Monday through Friday with rotating start times as needed No weekends, no call, and no holidays required Guaranteed hours: 3 shifts per 13 weeks Float within scope to PACU or PreOp units as needed 2 years of experience required, first-timers accepted Required certifications: BLS, ACLS; CCRN and TNCC preferred Epic charting system experience required Critical care experience and Level I Trauma Center experience required Must have experience with Phase I PACU, dysrhythmia recognition/management, blood product administration Phlebotomy skills, starting IVs, IV vasopressors, and ICP monitoring required Care of ventilated patients experience required Must have experience with drains, vasoactive drips, mechanical ventilation, and recovery from general anesthesia Experience with post cardiac surgery, lobectomy, chest trauma, exploratory laparotomy, splenectomy, and trauma patients required Night shift staff must learn preoperative patient workup procedures Scrub color: Navy blue Patient population includes adults, occasional adolescents, and geriatric patients Daily census: 70-90 patients in 38 patient bays High acuity PACU with 80% of patients being admitted to hospital after procedure/surgery Must pass Relias EKG exam Home address must be at least 75 miles from facility Maximum 7 days RTO per 13-week contract Facility This major healthcare facility operates as a Magnet and teaching hospital with Level I Trauma Center designation and 1,273 total staffed beds. The facility features a world-class PACU that operates 24/7 with 38 patient bays, providing recovery care for a vast array of acute post-operative patients. The unit recovers patients from multiple surgical specialties including neurosurgery, ENT, plastics, orthopedics, thoracic, vascular, trauma, general, colorectal, gynecology, urology, electrophysiology, interventional radiology, and transplant surgeries. The facility maintains its own PCT/transport team and offers comprehensive interdisciplinary support including respiratory services, interpretation services, and rapid response teams.
