The clinic services a diverse population of clients ranging from pediatric to geriatric. Therapy needs include orthopedics, neurology, vestibular, and wound care. The position includes travel to villages, inpatient and outpatient care, home care, and community outreach. The therapist adheres to standards of care and practice. Cultural diversity is considered when rendering patient care. Therapists work in a standard Physical Therapy department environment with necessary equipment. In village environments, therapists bring required materials for patient care. Language skills include the ability to read and interpret business periodicals or professional journals. Communication with physicians and medical staff is essential. Therapists should be able to present information and respond to questions effectively. Cultural sensitivity is important when communicating with members of different cultures. Mathematical skills include the ability to perform basic calculations and interpret data. Critical reasoning skills are necessary for solving practical problems. The therapist should be able to interpret various instructions in different forms.
