Description Specialty: Speech-Language Pathology (SLP) Location: Vinita, Oklahoma Pay: Depending on experience Shift Time: 8:00am -5:00pm Position Type: Direct Hire Facility Name: Vinita Hospital Pay Range:$39.78 - $59.68 Weekly Hours: 40 Qualifications: Education: Master's or Doctorate degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program. Licensure: Current state licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist. Certification: CCC-SLP certification by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) is required. Additional certifications or specialization in areas such as pediatric speech therapy or fluency disorders may be preferred. Experience: Previous experience as an SLP is preferred. Technical Skills: Proficiency in conducting assessments, developing treatment plans, and implementing a variety of speech therapy techniques. Interpersonal Skills: Strong communication, empathy, and the ability to establish therapeutic relationships with patients and their families. Professionalism: Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor, adhering to ethical and confidentiality standards. Physical Requirements: Capable of standing for extended periods, assisting patients with physical activities, and performing evaluations and treatments.. Key Responsibilities: Assessment and Diagnosis: Conduct comprehensive assessments to identify speech, language, voice, fluency, and swallowing disorders, and establish accurate diagnoses. Treatment Planning: Develop and implement individualized treatment plans that include evidence-based interventions to address patients' specific communication and swallowing needs. Therapeutic Interventions: Administer speech therapy sessions, including articulation therapy, language therapy, voice therapy, fluency therapy, and dysphagia therapy. Patient Education: Educate patients and their families on speech and language disorders, communication strategies, and home exercises to promote progress and independence. Progress Monitoring: Regularly evaluate patients' progress, adjust treatment plans as needed, and set achievable communication goals. Documentation: Maintain accurate and detailed patient records, including initial evaluations, progress notes, and discharge summaries, while adhering to regulatory standards. Collaboration: Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including physicians, educators, and occupational therapists, to ensure comprehensive patient care. Swallowing Assessment: Perform swallow evaluations and provide recommendations for dietary modifications and safe swallowing strategies. Assistive Technology: Utilize augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) devices and assistive technologies to enhance patients' communication abilities. Continuing Education: Stay updated with the latest advancements in speech-language pathology through ongoing education and professional development.
