The Pediatric Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) is a licensed professional responsible for the planning, implementation, and delivery of speech pathology services to ensure positive patient outcomes. The SLP will evaluate and treat disorders affecting speech, language, voice, swallowing, and cognitive-communicative function for pediatric populations. The SLP assesses and documents the pediatric patient's communication status using clinical observations, caregiver reports, and standardized testing. The SLP develops a treatment plan that integrates family values, the child’s deficits, and clinical guidelines. The SLP documents ongoing progress towards goals and provides treatment that supports sensory-motor, cognitive, psychological, and behavioral development.
