Job Description & Requirements Specialty: Telemetry Discipline: RN Start Date: 05/25/2026 Duration: 13 weeks 36 hours per week Shift: 12 hours, days Employment Type: Travel Assignment Overview Shift: Days, 3x12hrs Hours: 36 hrs/wk Start Date: May 25, 2026 Length: 13 weeks Openings: 2 Description American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Telemetry (IMC Cardiovascular) position in Alexandria, LA, requiring AHA BLS and ACLS certifications and at least 1 year of relevant nursing experience. Details Intermediate Care (IMC) Cardiovascular unit in a hospital setting — this is not a stepdown unit Patient population consists of cardiac and telemetry patients Nurse-to-patient ratio of 5:1–6:1 depending on staffing Day shift schedule: 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM Three 12-hour shifts per week Every other weekend required No on-call responsibilities 13-week contract with potential for temp-to-perm conversion Requirements Active LA RN license or compact license currently in hand Current BLS certification from the AHA required Current ACLS certification from the AHA required Minimum 1 year of experience in telemetry or a related nursing specialty Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to qualify for travel rates Additional Information Provides nursing care using the full nursing process — assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation — for assigned patients Administers medications and treatments per protocol and monitors for side effects and treatment effectiveness Addresses psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families Educates patients, families, and caregivers and identifies appropriate resources All newly hired experienced RNs must complete New Nurses Orientation within the first 30 days New hires are precepted by a trained staff member with competency validation completed at the bedside BSN is preferred but not required US Social Security Number is required for consideration American Traveler Job ID #P-704706.
