Ultrasound Tech Location: Waterloo, IA Agency: Cynet Health Pay: Competitive weekly pay (inquire for details) Shift Information: 5 days x 8 hours Start Date: 5/18/2026 About the Position Job Title: Ultrasonographer Profession: Sonographer Specialty: General Duration: Full-time Shift: Evenings Hours per Shift: 8 Experience: Minimum years of experience required License: Must hold current registration in Sonography Certifications: Current certification required Description: We are seeking a highly skilled Ultrasonographer who thrives in a collaborative environment and is passionate about delivering exceptional patient care. The role involves assisting in patient care to complement staffing needs. You will be accountable for staffing needs within the department. Responsibilities include completing schedules and addressing payroll as needed. You will help with staff education and training programs. The position involves assisting in the hiring and orientation of newly hired staff. You will provide leadership by coordinating and delegating patient care in an organized manner. Acting as a supervisor in the absence of the supervisor is expected. You will demonstrate the ability to meet the department work schedule. Daily operations of patient care will be managed by you. There will be a focus on maintaining high-quality, cost-effective services consistent with user needs. You will identify and explain key variances related to budgetary guidelines. As an interdepartmental liaison, you will promote effective teamwork. Identifying and implementing cost-saving ideas will be part of your duties. Collaboration with physicians and other healthcare team members is essential to achieve optimal patient outcomes. You will be responsible for maintaining current professional expertise. Promoting personal and professional growth among coworkers is encouraged. Discretion and sound judgment must be exhibited in all aspects of the job. You will effectively resolve complex unit situations, including patient complaints and crises. The role involves researching and recommending strategies to meet patient care needs. You will assist with achieving departmental objectives and making necessary modifications for goal attainment. A professional representation of the organization is expected at all times. Positive interpersonal relations and serving as a role model within the department are important. You will evaluate sonograms for technical quality and understand correct machine settings. Performing equipment calibrations and adjustments will be required. Selecting technical factors and imaging modes is an essential part of the role.
