Ultrasound Tech Location: Wrangell, AK Agency: Cynet Health Pay: Competitive weekly pay (inquire for details) Shift Information: Days - 5 days x 8 hours Start Date: 6/1/2026 About the Position Job Title: Ultrasound Technologist Profession: Diagnostic Imaging Specialty: General Abdominal/Obstetric, Small Parts Duration: Full Time Shift: Days Hours per Shift: 40 Experience: Minimum 1 year License: Current ARDMS in one category Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) - American Heart Association Must-Have: - ARDMS certification in one category (ABD, OB/GYN, RVT, RDCS) - Ability to perform all diagnostic exams related to assigned modality Description: We are a non-profit health consortium serving the health interests of residents in Southeast Alaska. The Sonographer must demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patient. The individual must understand the principles of growth and development over the life span. They must have the ability to assess data reflective of the patient's status and provide the necessary care as described in the department's policies and procedures. Key Essential Functions and Accountabilities: Must provide Sonographic examinations of all body parts for diagnostic interpretation. Must exercise professional judgment in the performance of procedures while applying principles of radiation protection. Performs diagnostic medical sonography within the department and other areas. Maintains patient records and files. Assumes responsibility for departmental quality assurance program. Pursues continuing education. Transfers patients to and from imaging. In the absence of a supervisor, can assume responsibility for the department. Rotates shifts as required. Performs ancillary duties as requested by the supervisor. Follows policies and procedures established by administration. Assists in general hygiene of the department and self. Must work well in stressful situations. Willingness to learn other imaging modalities as needed. Must be able to perform duties in two fields of ultrasound (General and vascular, or Cardiac). Able and willing to perform other duties as assigned. Perform all requested exams for diagnostic interpretation. Continuously seek higher levels of education with RDMS certification (Abd, OB/GYN, RVT, RDCS). Pursue continuing education to fulfill radiology and/or RDMS requirements. Responsible for the care of transducers and maintaining a neat work area. Responsible for paperwork that accompanies procedures. Assists with ultrasound invasive procedures. Participates in the preparation of policies and procedures in this area. Consults with referring physicians. Responsible for the care of the Trophon station. Assists with all efforts to obtain accreditations. Actively pursues education in a changing field. Secondary Functions: Attends department and organizational meetings, in-services, and disaster drills. Requirements Required for Onboarding BLS Pharmacology Skills Checklist Specialty Exam
