License - Currently registered with the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS). - Minimal certifications required: RDMS abdomen (AB) and vascular (RVT). Certifications - Basic Cardiopulmonary Life Support (BCLS) Certification. Must-Have: - Bachelor of Science degree (highly preferred). Description: The primary responsibility of the Ultrasound/Vascular Technologist is to select appropriate equipment for use in ultrasound setup, following exam specifications. Explains and performs the procedure with consideration to the level of understanding and age appropriateness for the patient. Assesses patient pain that may interfere with the imaging procedure and makes appropriate physician contact for intervention. Performs all aspects of patient care in an environment that prioritizes patient safety and reduces the likelihood of medical or healthcare errors. Selects a transducer and adjusts equipment controls according to the body part to be examined and other specifications of the test. Understands and practices proper use of all equipment. Performs procedures in accordance with established standards and protocols. Documents patient information appropriately. Adjusts and maintains equipment. Dresses in personal scrubs of any color.
