Job Description
We're seeking someone to join our Treasury Forecasting and Planning (TFP) team as a Vice President in Treasury to work across a variety of Firm and US Bank initiatives. In the Finance division, we act as a partner to business units around the globe by providing management, review, analysis and advisory services of the Firm's financial and capital resources. This is a Vice President position within our Corporate Treasury & Capital Planning Job Family which is responsible for planning, managing, forecasting and optimizing capital, liquidity and funding resources; governance oversight of Treasury and Capital Planning; setting frameworks, policies and guidelines for appropriate management of these resources; managing regulatory deliverables and exams; managing CCAR/Capital Stress Testing process. What You'll Do In The Role Collaborate with a varied group of colleagues in Finance and across the Firm Lead end-to-end processes and/or programs that require complex decision making, advanced understanding of client and stakeholder needs and subject matter expertise Understand and adhere to the Firm's risk and regulatory standards, policies and controls; own risk and contingency plans for business area Act as a role model and culture carrier; embody and set an example of the Firm's values and hold yourself and team accountable to Firm standards Develop a holistic view of the Firm's balance sheet and front-office business drivers, ensuring both short-term and long-term funding needs are accounted for Develop analytics on business line resource consumption to aid senior management in resource allocation decisions Develop analytics to optimize the Firm's funding stack and liquidity positioning Act as a bridge between the liquidity stress testing and liquidity management functions Provide a vision and direction to the technology development team and stakeholders to deliver software solutions used to manage funding & liquidity Maintain the team's risks & controls and associated documentation (e.g., policies & procedures) Manage what-if analysis and attribution of results Develop and mentor junior resources on the team Build effective working relationships with other key stakeholders within Corporate Treasury as well as the front-office business units, Controllers, Financial Planning & Analysis, and Risk Manage, attract, develop and retain talent for team within Finance while creating an inclusive environment; translate Firmwide goals into actionable goals for department/function What You'll Bring To The Role Advanced understanding of Finance functional area, industry, and competitive environment and technical skills, including risks and key regulations relevant to the division Strong technical skills Ability to inspire and support others by providing positive and constructive feedback and to acknowledge efforts of and promote team members Ability to manage risk and impact to functional area, and create plans to mitigate those risks In-depth knowledge of Bank balance sheet, funding products, and liquidity management In-depth knowledge of liquidity risk and liquidity stress testing Well-developed analytical capabilities, including the ability to summarize complex business problems and detailed analysis with clarity and brevity Experience working with technology teams to develop analytical dashboards An inquisitive and pro-active mindset with strong critical thinking skills Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to express clearly and concisely ideas and concepts in written and oral form for a senior audience The ability to build relationships across the Firm; must be comfortable interacting with and presenting to senior management Self-motivation and an eye for detail Bachelor's degree in a Finance, Accounting, or Information Technology-related field is a plus At least 9 years' relevant experience would generally be expected to find the skills required for this role What You Can Expect From Morgan Stanley At Morgan Stanley, we raise, manage and allocate capital for our clients – helping them reach their goals.
