Duties Safely operate tractor-trailers, including manual transmission trucks, across local and regional routes. Load and unload freight using appropriate equipment such as forklifts or roll-off trucks, ensuring proper handling of refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, or dump trucks. Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections to verify vehicle safety, including checking brakes, lights, tires, and load securement. Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, route details, and delivery documentation in compliance with transportation regulations. Route driving efficiently to meet delivery schedules while adhering to traffic laws and safety standards. Assist with the loading and unloading process when necessary, ensuring cargo integrity and proper handling of freight. Communicate effectively with dispatchers regarding route updates, delivery status, or any issues encountered during transit. Experience Minimum of ONE year experience Proven experience as a commercial truck driver with a focus on freight delivery; previous delivery driver experience is highly valued. Proficiency in operating various truck types including tractor-trailers with manual transmissions, refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, dump trucks, or roll-off trucks. Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) with endorsements relevant to the vehicle type (e.g., tanker endorsement). Familiarity with load securement techniques for different freight types and equipment such as forklifts when necessary. Knowledge of route planning and navigation tools to optimize delivery efficiency. Ability to perform routine vehicle inspections and basic maintenance checks confidently.
