The Opportunity We are seeking an experienced Trusts and Estates Paralegal with a strong background in Estate Administration to join a growing team in New Bern. This role is vital to the firm's mission of providing compassionate and precise service to clients during sensitive times. You will manage the lifecycle of estate administration, from initial probate filings to the final distribution of assets, serving as a trusted point of contact for fiduciaries and beneficiaries alike. Your Impact Estate & Trust Administration: Assist attorneys in the administration of estates, trusts, and guardianships, including preparing inventories, accountings, and other probate documents. Legal Drafting: Draft professional correspondence and legal documents under the supervision of an attorney. Liaison Duties: Confer with clients, beneficiaries, insurance companies, financial institutions, public officials, and court administrators. Tax & Research: Review tax strategies, prepare various tax returns, and keep abreast of administrative changes. Key Qualifications Experience: 2–4 years of paralegal experience, preferably in Estate Administration (a combination of accounting, college level, or paralegal education/work experience may be substituted). Technical Skills: Proficient in MS Office Suite and general online research; meticulous attention to detail with strong proofreading skills. Certification: Must have an NC Notary Public commission or the ability to obtain one.
