Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Education, Special Education, or Visual Impairments, active Teacher of the Visually Impaired certification and 1+ years Teacher of the Visually Impaired experience required. This full-time, contract opportunity is based on-site near Sanford, FL, with an assignment starting as soon as possible and extending through late May 2027. You’ll be working approximately 35 hours per week, providing services for a varied caseload—specific campus and age group assignments to be determined. The role focuses on fostering educational access, independence, and skill development for students with visual impairments. You’ll collaborate with fellow educators, staff, and families to create and implement individualized education plans that cater to each student’s unique needs. Qualifications Valid Educator Certification, with national certification preferred District background check (time-sensitive credentialing required) Previous experience working as a Visually Impaired Teacher or providing similar services in a K-12 educational environment Familiarity with adaptive technologies and instructional strategies for visually impaired students Strong communication, organizational, and advocacy skills Responsibilities Deliver tailored instructional support to students with visual impairments across assigned schools Develop, monitor, and adapt Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) Consult regularly with multidisciplinary teams, families, and support staff Integrate assistive technology to optimize student learning Maintain thorough documentation and progress records in accordance with district guidelines This position offers a competitive hourly compensation of $45.
