Job Summary The sonographer performs Ultrasound procedures according to established protocol to obtain diagnostic information as ordered by a licensed physician or their designated health care provider. The Sonographer provides information to the patient about the purpose of the ultrasound procedure and responds to the patient's questions and concerns. The Sonographer recognizes the patient's individuality and provides quality care in a non-judgmental and non-discriminatory manner using professional and ethical judgment. The diagnostic medical sonographer maintains continued competence through lifelong learning, which includes continuing education, acquisition of specialty specific credentials, and recredentialing.
