Location (Primary Location for Job Responsibilities) Our Kennesaw campus is located at 1000 Chastain Road NW, Kennesaw, GA 30144. Our Marietta campus is located at 1100 South Marietta Parkway, Marietta, GA 30060. Job Summary Performs research activities and other tasks as necessary in a research laboratory environment. Records observations and measurements and reports results. Provides technical support for research activities. Work with other undergraduate and graduate students engaged in research. This position is considered limited-term staff since it utilizes contingent funding, which is currently secured through July 31, 2026 Employment thereafter will be conditional based on the continued availability of funding. Responsibilities KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: - Engages in research activities such as designing and performing experiments and recording and analyzing data Assists in the preparation of reports, presentations, and manuscripts May assist in other research projects May work in collaboration with other undergraduate and graduate researchers Assists with laboratory maintenance, equipment cleaning, and ordering supplies Required Qualifications Educational Requirements High school diploma or equivalent Required Experience Some experience conducting research. Preferred Qualifications Preferred Educational Qualifications A current undergraduate student from an accredited institution of higher education in a related field Preferred Experience Some experience working with chemicals and biochemicals in a laboratory Some experience in writing a laboratory report Experience with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel Abilities Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities Able to handle multiple tasks or projects at one time, meeting assigned deadlines KNOWLEDGE Knowledge of scientific principles and lab safety Skills Excellent interpersonal, initiative, teamwork, problem-solving, independent judgment, organization, communication (verbal and written), time management, project management, and presentation skills Proficient with computer applications and programs associated with the position (i.e., Microsoft Office suite) Strong attention to detail and follow-up skills Strong customer service skills and phone and e-mail etiquette USG Core Values The University System of Georgia is comprised of our 25 institutions of higher education and learning as well as the System Office.
