Job Description
Job Title : University Intern, STB&T Systems Integration About the organization: The BioBridge Global family of nonprofits includes South Texas Blood & Tissue, QualTex Laboratories, GenCure, and The Blood & Tissue Center Foundation. For more than 45 years, we have worked with the healthcare community to provide patients with lifesaving therapies and support advances in regenerative medicine. South Texas Blood & Tissue supplies blood components to more than 100 hospitals in South Texas and supports tissue, research/new therapies, and umbilical cord blood/birth tissue donations. Internship Opportunity: As an intern, you will have the opportunity to support South Texas Blood and Tissue (STB&T) information systems initiatives by assisting in various development, implementation, and/or integration tasks related to new validations and business process improvement projects. This includes: Receive and incorporate training in applicable STB&T functional areas, processes, and systems Assist in validation activities with IT, Quality Assurance (QA), and compliance teams Help document standard operating procedures, workflows, requirements, and test cases Help perform data collection and analysis associated with validations and business process improvement activities Qualifications: Enrolled in a full-time undergraduate or graduate degree program from an accredited university Basic notetaking and writing skills are required Computer systems technical knowledge is preferred No industry, medical, or biology knowledge is needed Willing, able, and motivated to learn and contribute to our great mission General Duties: Commit to and abide by the character of BioBridge Global’s Core Values of Accountability, Stewardship, Pioneer, Integrity, Respect, and Excellence (ASPIRE). Support, communicate, and reinforce the mission and vision of the enterprise. Perform other duties as assigned. In addition, the Intern is responsible for transportation to and from various donor recruitment sites. Work schedule: Commit to minimum of 6 weeks, and maximum of 12 weeks for internship. Between 30-40 hours per week, flexible days, and times during the hours of 9:00am-5:00pm Monday-Friday.
