We are currently seeking a dynamic and experienced Principal Account Manager to lead a strategic business portfolio and customer engagements within the defense sector, specifically supporting U.S. Air Force (USAF) and OEM customers. This USAF Principal Account Manager supports the Honeywell USAF Customer Business Team with all aspects of the day-to-day execution for a customer account portfolio and associated contracts or programs. As the primary customer advocate within Honeywell, the Principal Account Manager will identify and align customer needs with Honeywell’s products and capabilities, driving business growth and operational excellence. This role has responsibility for achieving aggressive annual sales, profit, and growth goals by selling Honeywell products, services, and capabilities. You will be responsible for managing a distinct set of strategic customers and coordinating with Honeywell production, supply chain, and engineering teams to drive execution. Additionally, you will be responsible for responding to customer solicitations with proposals, establishing long-term customer agreements, setting short- and long-term growth strategies, and identifying new potential customers. Working with a large number of customers, you will develop product roadmaps and service enhancements to improve customer satisfaction, margin, and sales performance. You will own and direct the operational aspects of your USAF Customer Business Team’s relationships, coordinating with all functions of the Honeywell value chain to achieve success for our customers. You will analyze schedules, status reports, coordinate efforts to meet productivity, quality, and customers’ satisfaction goals and objectives while setting the strategies across the business for multiple products. This role is ideal for applicants with a deep understanding of USAF and Defense Acquisition programs and processes as well as industry business and production processes. The Principal Account Manager will report directly to the Honeywell Senior Director, USAF and DLA Aviation Business. Location: Remote with preference given to locations near Honeywell sites in Phoenix AZ, Clearwater FL, or Washington D.C., and also locations aligned with the U.S. Air Force customer footprints (e.g., near U.S. Air Force bases). Responsibilities Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned U.S. Air Force, Government, and Defense customers. Communicate with multiple Government customers and their leadership on a regular basis to define and influence business requirements. Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers and stakeholders, understanding their business needs and providing tailored solutions. Lead cross-functional teams to deliver Annual Operating Plan (AOP) and Strategic Plan (STRAP) objectives by working tactically and strategically within Honeywell with our Business Development, Integrated Supply Chain, Product Lines, Engineering, Finance, Pricing, and Contracting/Legal teams. Drive business growth, program execution, financial performance, and customer satisfaction. Develop and implement strategic growth plans tailored to customer needs. Drive accurate forecasting for short- and long-range outlooks, demand planning, and financial performance. Guide proposal development and approval processes in coordination with Proposal Managers and functional stakeholders to submit accurate and timely proposal offerings. Support decision-making in marketing, pricing, contracting, and execution of new business opportunities. Identify and implement productivity and process improvements to continuously improve business performance and profitability. Foster a culture of accountability and ownership across integrated product teams. Understand the competitive environment and identify and recommend potential industry partners to facilitate growth. Qualifications MUST HAVE Minimum 10 years of experience in sales, business development, or business/program management. Ability to travel up to 25%.
