Used Car Director About Us Nissan of Hendersonville is a high-volume, customer-focused dealership committed to operational excellence, strong inventory management, and delivering an exceptional buying experience. We are seeking a results-driven Used Car Director to lead and scale our pre-owned operations. Position Overview The Used Car Director will be responsible for the overall strategy, performance, and profitability of the dealership’s pre-owned vehicle department. This includes inventory acquisition, pricing, merchandising, reconditioning, and sales performance. This is a high-impact leadership role requiring strong analytical skills, market awareness, and the ability to drive both gross and volume. Key Responsibilities Inventory Management Source and acquire used vehicle inventory through auctions, trades, and direct buys Maintain optimal inventory levels, age, and turn rates Monitor market trends and adjust strategy accordingly Pricing & Merchandising Set competitive pricing using market data tools (vAuto, etc.) Ensure vehicles are properly merchandised online and on the lot Manage aging inventory and markdown strategies Reconditioning Oversight Control recon costs, cycle time, and quality Work closely with service department to ensure efficiency and profitability Sales Leadership Partner with Sales Managers to drive used vehicle sales performance Track KPIs including turn rate, gross per unit, and days to sale Develop strategies to maximize front and back-end profitability Team Development Train and mentor staff involved in used car operations Foster a performance-driven, accountable culture Financial Performance Own the used car P&L Achieve monthly and annual sales, gross, and inventory turn goals Qualifications 5+ years of experience in used vehicle management or director-level role Proven track record of driving profitability and inventory turn Strong understanding of market-based pricing tools (vAuto, Inventory+, etc.) Experience with auctions (Manheim, Adesa) and inventory sourcing Excellent leadership, communication, and analytical skills Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment Compensation & Benefits Competitive base salary + performance-based bonuses Health, dental, and vision insurance 401(k) with company match Paid time off Employee vehicle purchase program Why Join Us?
