Job Description
Transcendance · Remote · Contract / Part-Time (Equity Negotiable) —————————————————————————————— We're building Transcendance — a start-up and daily coaching and performance-tracking app for competitive Overwatch 2 players, designed in the tradition of Hallow and Headspace. Think : the calm, ritualized daily flow of Headspace where you have bite-sized lessons, structured courses, streak-driven habits fused with the depth and reverence Hallow brings to its content. But instead of meditation or prayer, users open the app each day and get a personalized coaching session from a named teacher before they queue for ranked. Then the app tracks their gameplay and surfaces measurable improvement tied to what they just practiced. Nobody has built this product yet. Tracker.gg shows stats. YouTube shows content. Individual coaches do not hold you accountable day-by-day. Neither closes the loop between learning and measurable improvement. We do. —————————————————————————————— What You'll Design · The daily flow — a home screen that feels like opening Hallow for the first time: calm, personal, one clear recommendation. Not a dashboard. A moment. · Coach-branded content experiences — lesson players, course progression, creator profiles. Each coach's content should feel like theirs within a unified design language. · The tracker layer — post-session performance surfaces that show cross-layer correlations ("sessions where you warmed up and held deaths under 4/10 min. → 62% WR"). Data presented with the clarity of a Headspace progress ring, not a spreadsheet. · Onboarding — role/hero selection, coach discovery, first daily session. The first 90 seconds determine retention. · Course structure UX — multi-week arcs owned by creators (e.g., "Rooms Theory on flashpoint/KOTH -- 3 weeks"). Progression, completion, unlocks. —————————————————————————————— Who You Are · You play Overwatch 2 at minimally a Master's+ level, ideally Grandmaster+ level. This is not a joke. You must have an actual relationship to the content in order to design UX for us. · You understand ritual UX and that the design philosophy that makes someone open an app every day not because of push notifications, but because the experience itself pulls them in. · You can articulate why Hallow feels reverent and Headspace feels friendly + you can synthesize a third thing from the two. · You like and have strong ideas about motion, pacing, and quiet space in mobile interfaces. Maybe y ou've designed content-consumption or habit-tracking apps. For example, wellness, education, spiritual, fitness. Not e-commerce, not SaaS dashboards. Bonus: · Experience designing creator/teacher platform UX (Masterclass, Skillshare, etc.) · Familiarity with Figma component systems and design tokens —————————————————————————————— Why This Role You're the founding designer at a startup defining the entire visual and interaction language from day one. Coaches and content creators are being brought on now; the product vision is clear; the technical build follows the design. Your work sets the ceiling for this product. Compensation is flexible. We're open to contract, hourly, revenue share, or equity. Let's talk about what works for you. —————————————————————————————— To Apply Send me a DM or message with: A link to your portfolio (Dribbble, Behance, personal site --- anything) 3 sentences on why this project interests you + your OW2 rank. Bonus: a screenshot of a design you've done that you think captures the vibe No cover letter needed. Just show me how you think about this kind of product. — Jerry Qu
