Our high-mix production model requires strong operational leadership across Lean Manufacturing, Continuous Improvement, and value stream optimization. Position Overview The Value Stream Manager – Paint owns end-to-end performance across coating and finishing operations. This role is responsible for improving throughput, increasing First Pass Yield (FPY), and optimizing cycle time and takt time across paint operations. The Value Stream Manager drives process stability, reduces defects, and scales Lean Manufacturing practices across the coating value stream. Key Responsibilities Value Stream Ownership & Operational Leadership Own full coating value stream performance across surface preparation, paint application, and finishing Lead Value Stream Supervisors and production teams Manage flow across the value stream including WIP, bottlenecks, and throughput constraints Align operations with production schedules and BOM execution Lean Manufacturing & Continuous Improvement Lead Lean Manufacturing initiatives including 5S, Kaizen, and Continuous Improvement Apply Six Sigma, Root Cause Analysis, 5 Whys, and Fishbone methodologies Improve cycle time, takt time, and throughput Standardize processes and scale best practices KPI Ownership & Performance Management Own KPIs including First Pass Yield (FPY), throughput, cycle time, takt time, inventory turns, safety, quality, and on-time delivery / Reduce defects and improve coating consistency Ensure ISO9001 compliance Leadership & Organizational Development Develop Value Stream Supervisors and coating leaders Build accountability and performance culture Strengthen team capability to support operational growth Required Qualifications 7–12 years of experience in Paint Manager, Value Stream Manager, or Manufacturing Manager roles Experience in industrial or contract manufacturing Strong background in coating and finishing processes Experience with Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement Preferred Qualifications Experience with powder coating, wet paint, or industrial finishing systems Engineering or industrial background
