Position:Van Driver Type:Full-Time, Part-Time, On-Call Location:Machias Pay Range:$16-18 Schedule:Monday through Friday (with flexibility for 30hours/week); occasional evening/weekend on-call availability Job Summary:Ridesource Inc.is a Maine-based transportation company dedicated to providing safe, reliable transportation services across Maine.Join our team and make a positive impact on our passengers' lives while enjoying a supportive work environment and excellent benefits.Ridesource Inc.is seeking reliable and safety-focused Van Driver (full-time, part-time, and on-call) to transport passengers safely to and from non-emergency medical appointments in the Machias area.Duties & Responsibilities: Safely transport passengers, including children, to and from non-emergency medical appointments. Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections; report any issues or needed repairs to the Operations Manager. Maintain a clean, safe, and sanitary vehicle interior and exterior. Follow assigned routes, anticipate hazards, and operate the van safely and efficiently. Assist passengers entering/exiting the vehicle, including those using wheelchairs, walkers, motorized three-wheeled scooters, and other mobility aids; properly secure mobility devices. Report accidents, incidents, or behavioral issues immediately and complete required documentation. Build positive, respectful relationships with passengers. Attend mandatory training sessions and safety meetings.Skills & Qualifications: At least 25 years of age with a minimum of three years of licensed driving experience. Clean driving record for the last 5 years; able to pass a criminal background check (including fingerprinting) and drug testing. Ability to pass a DOT physical, pre-employment drug screening, and ongoing random drug/alcohol testing. First Aid certification preferred (CPR a plus). Excellent verbal communication skills and a positive, patient attitude. Strong knowledge of--or ability to learn--traffic laws, van safety regulations, and emergency procedures. Even-tempered and able to remain calm under pressure. Basic proficiency with smartphones, navigation apps/maps, and prompt issue reporting. Flexibility for occasional evening or weekend on-call work. Knowledge of local routes in Machias and surrounding Downeast Maine areas (preferred).Benefits: Health insurance (90% employer-paid). 401(k) retirement plan. Paid Time Off (PTO).
