Job Description
UCHealth is seeking a Vascular Technologist I to join our Healthcare & Medical Services team within our hospital-based vascular lab. As an entry-level member of a collaborative, patient-centered care team, the Vascular Technologist I performs routine noninvasive vascular ultrasound examinations to support the diagnosis and treatment of patients with peripheral arterial, venous, and cerebrovascular disease. Working under the guidance of senior technologists and vascular physicians, the Vascular Technologist I conducts a variety of vascular studies, including venous duplex for deep vein thrombosis, carotid duplex imaging, peripheral arterial studies, and physiologic testing such as ankle–brachial indices and segmental pressure measurements. The technologist is responsible for obtaining complete, high-quality diagnostic images and hemodynamic data, optimizing ultrasound settings, and documenting preliminary findings in the imaging and electronic medical record systems according to established protocols. This role requires direct patient interaction throughout the exam process, including verifying patient identity, reviewing relevant history, explaining procedures, positioning patients safely and comfortably, and responding to patient needs during testing. The Vascular Technologist I adheres to infection prevention, safety, and privacy standards at all times and follows UCHealth’s policies and procedures to ensure a safe clinical environment for patients, visitors, and staff. The technologist participates in daily equipment checks, basic troubleshooting, and routine quality control activities to maintain accurate and reliable imaging performance. Under supervision, the Vascular Technologist I collaborates with radiologists, vascular surgeons, and other members of the care team to clarify orders, prioritize urgent cases, and communicate critical or unexpected findings through established escalation pathways. The position supports an innovative, diverse, and inclusive culture by demonstrating respect, clear communication, and teamwork in a fast-paced clinical environment. UCHealth supports professional growth through structured orientation, ongoing training, and access to continuing education in vascular imaging. As a Vascular Technologist I, you will receive mentoring from experienced technologists, exposure to advanced vascular procedures, and opportunities to expand skills and pursue professional certification such as Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT). UCHealth offers competitive compensation and a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision coverage, life insurance, retirement savings options, and paid time off, while encouraging continuous improvement and excellence in patient care. This position typically follows a primarily on-site clinical schedule, with potential for occasional schedule flexibility depending on departmental needs. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, comfortable working with technology and imaging equipment, and committed to delivering compassionate, high-quality care to a diverse patient population in alignment with UCHealth’s mission and values.
