Job Title: VDC Designer Specialist Job Description We are seeking a VDC Designer Specialist who will play a critical role in transforming visions into proposed plans by producing accurate, coordinated construction documents that drive our projects from concept to completion. This position supports business development, project managers, superintendents, and trade partners by developing, managing, and coordinating digital models and visualizations that support preconstruction, design coordination, and field execution. The role bridges design intent and construction reality by producing accurate 3D models and renderings to improve project planning, communication, and efficiency. Responsibilities Develop and maintain 3D models using Revit software. Generate 2D drawings and construction plans for commercial projects, including permit set plans and 3D models. Coordinate drawings across trades (MEP, structural, civil) to avoid conflicts. Review and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications. Ensure drawings comply with local building codes, zoning regulations, and ADA requirements. Maintain organized drawing files and documentation in company systems. Participate in project coordination meetings as needed. Perform other duties as assigned. Essential Skills Advanced proficiency in Revit. Ability to create and manage 3D models for commercial construction projects. Strong understanding of commercial construction methods. Ability to read and interpret architectural and engineering drawings. Knowledge of building codes and permitting processes. Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines. Effective communication and collaboration skills. Problem-solving mindset. Organizational and time management skills. Additional Skills & Qualifications Familiarity with MEP coordination is a plus. Associate’s degree or certification in Drafting, Engineering Technology, Architecture, or related field preferred. Experience working with a commercial general contractor preferred. Proficiency in BIM, AutoCAD, and architecture-related software. Work Environment This is an in-person position. Job Type & Location This is a Permanent position based out of Sioux Falls, SD. Pay And Benefits The pay range for this position is $55000.00 - $75000.00/yr.
