Job Description
Grays Harbor Veterinary Service is seeking a dedicated Veterinarian to join our veterinary health team serving the Granite City community. As a key medical provider in our practice, you will deliver comprehensive veterinary care, including preventive medicine, surgery, and urgent care services, to ensure companion animals receive the highest standard of treatment throughout their lives. In this role, you will perform thorough physical examinations, formulate diagnostic and treatment plans, and communicate clearly with pet owners about medical conditions, options, and expected outcomes. You will be responsible for routine soft tissue surgeries—such as spays, neuters, mass removals, and wound repairs—while managing anesthesia and analgesia to maintain excellent patient safety and comfort. You will utilize in-house laboratory equipment, reference labs, and diagnostic imaging to support accurate, timely diagnoses and manage both acute and chronic conditions. You will also play an important role in triaging and stabilizing urgent or emergency cases, working closely with our skilled veterinary technicians to coordinate care. Client education is central to this position: you will routinely counsel owners on preventive care, vaccinations, nutrition, behavior, parasite control, and long-term disease management, helping them make informed decisions that support their pets’ health and quality of life. The clinic fosters a supportive atmosphere that prioritizes continuous learning and compassionate care for animals. You will collaborate with a team that values open communication, mutual respect, and ongoing professional growth. As a Veterinarian with Grays Harbor Veterinary Service, you will be encouraged to expand your skills through complex case workups, participation in medical discussions, and mentorship opportunities, while contributing to a culture of empathy for both patients and clients. This position is a full-time opportunity with a primarily on-site schedule in our Granite City facility, with the potential for limited flexibility as practice needs allow. Candidates should bring a strong foundation in small animal medicine and surgery, sound clinical judgment, and a genuine passion for delivering high-quality patient care in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
