Overview Pet Doctors of Industry Animal Hospital is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Veterinary Assistant or Technician to join our team. This role is essential in providing high-quality care to our animal patients and supporting our veterinary staff in delivering exceptional service. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in animal care, excellent communication skills, and a passion for working with animals. Schedule Day shift Weekends as needed Responsibilities Assist veterinarians and veterinary technicians during examinations and procedures. Provide proper restraint for animals during examinations and treatments. Administer medications as directed by the veterinarian or technician. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the clinic, including kennels and examination rooms. Monitor animal behavior and health, reporting any concerns to the veterinary staff. Assist with laboratory tasks, including sample collection and processing. Educate pet owners on proper care, nutrition, and health maintenance for their animals. Qualifications Previous experience in a veterinary clinic or animal care setting is preferred. Knowledge of veterinary terminology, animal anatomy, physiology, and critical care practices. Experience with medication administration, and aseptic techniques. Familiarity with laboratory procedures and equipment is an asset. Strong skills in animal handling and restraint techniques for dogs and cats. Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with clients and team members. Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail. A passion for animal welfare and commitment to providing the best possible care.
