As a Diagnostic Imaging Scheduler, you will coordinate advanced imaging appointments (CT, Ultrasound, MRI) to ensure efficient workflow and timely care. This role acts as a liaison between patients, clinicians, and staff, managing schedules based on staffing and equipment availability. Requirements: Strong organizational skills and attention to detail Clinical knowledge of veterinary medicine Excellent written and verbal communication Ability to manage a fast-paced workload Details: Full-time, benefited position Essential personnel Post-offer education verification, background check, and health assessment required Key Responsibilities: Schedule all CT and Ultrasound exams in RIS, maintaining clear communication with technologists and radiology faculty/residents. Prioritize scheduling requests based on urgency and acuity, including emergencies and add-on cases, in collaboration with DI staff. Coordinate concurrent imaging and anesthesia requirements to optimize patient care and resource utilization. Reschedule exams as needed based on patient condition, departmental priorities, and clinical requirements. Manage and triage incoming calls related to CT/US scheduling, protocols, and exam inquiries to reduce interruptions for technologists. Provide accurate information regarding protocols and scheduling policies to staff and patients. Ensure adherence to CT/US scheduling policies to minimize cancellations and improve operational efficiency. Verify that all required patient and exam information (e.g., weight, history, sedation orders, isolation precautions, screening questions, time confirmation) is complete in RIS prior to the exam. Confirm that exam orders and charges in RIS match the ordered and performed procedures. Review and reconcile cancelled or open orders at the end of each shift. Assist with scheduling and time-stamping research cases and procedures for Diagnostic Imaging. Schedule research exams in RIS after approval from technologists and DI faculty/residents. Ensure completion of all required Radiology Research forms, including IACUC when applicable. Gather necessary details for research exams (protocol, equipment needs, duration). Follow up on correct charging and reporting requirements for research exams (e.g., “no report” vs. dictated report).
