Veterinary Kennel Assistant

Veterinary/Kennel Assistant Kennel Assistant / Veterinary Assistant Must be able to lift 10 lbs to 50 lbs.Must have a love and patience for animals.Must be available to work 1 weekend shift per week and some holidays.Must be comfortable restraining cats and dogs of different ages.Must be comfortable cleaning up after cats and dogs.You will have the opportunity to learn tech skills.Job duties include the following:Restraining cats and dogs for exams and anesthesia.Restraining cats and dogs for x-rays and ultrasounds.Setting up blood samples for heartworm tests and setting up fecal samples to check for parasites.Weighing patients and noting their weight in their chart.Cleaning kennel runs and cages.Cleaning up vomit, urine, or feces.Cleaning various rooms around the hospital weekly.Vacuuming and mopping on a regular basis.Bathing dogs with regular shampoo and sometimes medicated.Doing loads of laundry and putting away laundry.Leash-walking dogs several times a day.Inform technician or veterinarian if boarders or patients show signs of illness.Unpacking deliveries and re-stocking food and medication.Pay:From $16.00 per hour Benefits:Employee discount Paid time off Education:High school or equivalent (Required) Experience:Veterinary Experience:1 year (Required) Work Location:In person.
