Animal Works Veterinary Surgery is an affordable, surgery-focused veterinary clinic dedicated to improving animal and community welfare through accessible spay and neuter services. We are seeking a skilled and reliable veterinary technician who thrives in a small-team environment, demonstrates strong surgical support experience, and takes pride in maintaining a clean, organized, and efficient workspace. About the Role As a small, fast-paced practice, every team member wears multiple hats. The ideal candidate will be confident in surgical assistance, anesthesia monitoring, and patient care, while also contributing to client communication and daily clinic operations. Attention to organization and cleanliness is critical—our commitment to high surgical standards depends on a sterile, well-maintained, and orderly environment that supports both patient safety and team efficiency. Core Responsibilities Dental Care Obtain full-mouth dental radiographs Perform scaling and polishing Administer local anesthetics Surgical Assistance Administer and monitor anesthesia Follow sterile protocols and maintain a clean surgical area Use Zoetis machines and digital radiography Safely apply bandages and splints Patient Care Place and secure IV catheters Record vitals and detailed observations in electronic medical records Practice low-stress handling and compassionate restraint Client Communication Provide professional and empathetic updates to clients regarding post-operative care and hospitalized patients if needed Assist with client intakes and appointment coordination Clinic Operations Help answer phones and check clients in/out as needed Contribute to maintaining a clean, organized, and cohesive work environment that reflects our professional standards Experience & Expectations Minimum 1 year of veterinary experience required (3+ years preferred) Strong surgical background and familiarity with Zoetis diagnostic equipment Excellent attendance and reliability are essential Team-oriented with strong communication and organizational skills Job Details Work Location: In person Job Type: Part-time Remote Work: No Benefits Employee discount Flexible schedule Education: High school or equivalent (Preferred) Experience: Veterinary: 1 year (Required) Job Type: Part-time Pay: $17.00 - $20.00 per hour Benefits Employee discount Work Location: In person
