Duties Assist veterinarians during examinations, surgeries, and diagnostic procedures by preparing equipment and maintaining a sterile environment using aseptic techniques Handle animals safely and confidently through proper restraint techniques, animal handling, and dog training methods to ensure smooth procedures and reduce stress Perform laboratory tests such as blood work, urinalysis, and other diagnostics to support accurate diagnoses Manage animal husbandry tasks including feeding, cleaning enclosures, and monitoring health status to promote optimal animal well-being Take and develop X-ray images, ensuring correct positioning and safety protocols are followed for clear diagnostic results Conduct dental cleanings utilizing dental terminology knowledge to assist with procedures like scaling and polishing pets’ teeth Support pet care activities such as grooming, pet grooming, administering medications, and assisting with pet grooming to enhance overall pet health Requirements Prior kennel experience or animal handling experience demonstrating comfort working with various animals including dogs and horses Knowledge of veterinary terminology, animal anatomy, physiology, and veterinary critical care practices Experience with animal catheterization, restraint techniques, and aseptic procedures necessary for safe patient management Laboratory experience including sample collection and processing is preferred Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members and educate pet owners about animal care needs Certification or training in veterinary technician practices is highly desirable; ongoing professional development encouraged Join us if you’re passionate about animal health and eager to expand your veterinary technician expertise!
