Duties Assist veterinarians during examinations, surgeries, and diagnostic procedures by preparing equipment and maintaining a sterile environment using aseptic techniques. Handle animal restraint safely and effectively to facilitate examinations, treatments, or procedures such as catheterization or X-ray imaging. Perform laboratory tests including sample collection and analysis to support accurate diagnoses. Provide pet care and animal husbandry tasks such as feeding, grooming, administering medications, and monitoring animal health status. Maintain detailed medical records, update patient charts, and document treatments accurately. Manage animal behavior during handling sessions through dog training techniques and proper animal handling skills to ensure safety for both animals and staff. Skills Proven kennel experience with the ability to handle multiple animals confidently and compassionately. Strong knowledge of veterinary terminology, animal anatomy, physiology, and veterinary critical care practices. Laboratory experience including sample collection, processing, and analysis. Skilled in animal restraint techniques for various procedures such as X-ray positioning or catheter placement. Familiarity with pet grooming practices and dog training methods to enhance overall pet care services. Ability to communicate effectively using veterinary terminology while maintaining clear documentation of all procedures performed.
