Veterinary Technician

Job Overview Prairie Creek Animal Hospital is seeking a veterinary technician. Experience in animal handling is required but technician experience is only preferred. Pay commiserate with experience. Responsibilities Assist veterinarians during examinations, surgeries, and procedures. Perform diagnostic tests including X-rays and laboratory analyses. Administer medications, vaccinations, and treatments as directed by the veterinarian. Monitor animal patients' vital signs and overall health status. Prepare animals for surgery, including anesthesia administration and catheterization. Maintain accurate medical records and documentation of treatments provided. Educate pet owners on proper pet care, nutrition, and preventive health measures. Requirements Experience as a veterinary technician preferred but not required Proficiency in animal handling techniques Familiarity with veterinary terminology and laboratory procedures. Strong interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with pet owners and team members. Commitment to providing high-quality patient care with compassion and empathy. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
