Vice President, Controller About the Company Prominent credit union Industry Banking Type Privately Held About the Role The Company is seeking a Vice President, Controller to join their executive management team. The successful candidate will be the chief accountant, responsible for the timely and accurate preparation of financial statements, supporting reports, and the credit union's quarterly Call Report. This role also involves maintaining and reconciling the general ledger, overseeing payroll and related tax filings, and ensuring the completion of the annual financial statement audit. The VP, Controller will manage a team of four accounting and back-office operations staff, provide essential reports and data analysis to the CEO and Board of Directors, and ensure compliance with all relevant laws and regulations, including BSA. Candidates for the VP, Controller position at the company should have an accounting degree, with a preference for a CPA, and at least 5 years' of related experience, including a minimum of 2 years in financial institutions. Management experience is also preferred. The role requires outstanding communication, presentation, and technology skills, and experience in mortgage banking accounting is considered beneficial. The VP, Controller will be the primary liaison with regulators, manage key vendor relationships, and work to improve the credit union's data systems. The position is pivotal in supporting the credit union's strategic goals and objectives, and the ideal candidate will be adept at asset-liability management, budgeting, profitability, and credit and liquidity monitoring.
