Vice President of Construction, Commercial About the Company Respected general contractor Industry Construction Type Privately Held About the Role The Company is seeking a Vice President of Construction to provide executive leadership across all construction divisions, operations, and project delivery teams. The successful candidate will be responsible for the construction P&L, financial performance, forecasting, and resource allocation. This role involves developing and implementing companywide operational standards, best practices, and continuous improvement initiatives, as well as directing and mentoring project managers, superintendents, and field leadership to ensure alignment with company values. The VP of Construction will also partner with ownership on long-term strategic planning, expansion into new markets, and division growth, and will oversee preconstruction functions, high-level client engagement, and ensure safety, quality, schedule, and budget expectations are met across all active projects. Applicants must have a minimum of 15 years of construction leadership experience, including Director or VP-level oversight, and a proven track record in leading operations across various commercial, residential, institutional, retail, or mixed-use sectors. Strong financial management skills, expertise in building high-performing teams, and a demonstrated ability to grow company divisions and develop new markets are essential. The role requires executive-level communication, negotiation, and decision-making capability, as well as the ability to manage complex portfolios and multi-state projects. The ideal candidate will be adept at driving hiring, team development, and succession planning, and will be expected to represent the company professionally with various external stakeholders.
